His experience spans industries including manufacturing, childcare, truck distributors, restaurant ownership, food equipment distributors, business services and commercial banking.
Prior to joining LaGrey, David was a business lawyer for 20 years. He most recently was a Partner with the law firm Mika Meyers, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. While a Partner at Mika Meyers he ran a thriving business practice focused on business advisory for executive teams, M&A, business transactions, private financing structures, along with corporate business law, corporate governance and commercial disputes and negotiations. From 2020-2022, David also owned and operated a manufacturing company and facility located in Grand Rapids, Michigan. David negotiated both the buy and sell side of the transaction and successfully exited the deal fully in 2022 by finding a strategic buyer of both the manufacturing business and the commercial facility.
David is a graduate of Albion College (magna cum laude), and Michigan State University College of Law (magna cum laude). While at Albion College David was a member of both the Football and Baseball teams, including the 1994 National Championship Football Team. David was a three time All-America and an Academic All-American in two sports (football, 1995 and 1996, baseball 1997). David was inducted into the Albion College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012.
When not at the office, David enjoys coaching his kids in hockey, fly fishing, golfing, skiing and traveling with his wife and three children.
